Former Roc-A-fella Hypeman C.E.O Dame Dash more known for his arrogance and outlandish spending than his business moves is in danger of loosing his two New York City apartments.
Damon Dash and his wife are in jeopardy of losing two of their Manhattan apartments after apparently failing to pay their hefty mortgages. The bank holding the mortgages says in a court filing Dash and Rachel Roy owe $7.3 million on the properties and it has begun foreclosure proceedings. Eastern Savings Bank says Dash and Roy were supposed to make monthly payments of $78,500. Ehhhh I guess life is hard when you can no longer live off Jay-Z and dance in the background, I guess those ghetto fab habits are finally catching up to ol boy.

In more Rick Ross news, he is getting sued for $4 Million dollars following a jumping of DJ Vlad last week at the Ozone Awards. Rick Ross was apparently upset at DJ Vlad's coverage of the correctional officer scandal.
Hours before the fight Rick Ross sent Vlad a text reading "Niggas will learn.. Trillaaaaa", a short time later Ross called Vlad saying "I've been hearing things about me on your Web site. ... We gonna make a story. ... We going to see each other. ... We going to talk. ... Where are you?". They met up a short time later where the beating occurred.
We see this type of thing happen quite often in a genre of music that is built on persona and image. Getting arrested in Hip Hop has become a badge of honor instead of an embarrassing incident. You have a culture of people who strive for a negative image rather than a positive uplifting image, only those rappers who have been fortunate to have a long an successful career seem to get it and understand the importance of being conscious of their actions.
So has Hip Hop really grown or has it devoved?

Okay, I told myself that I was not going to blog about this but here I am. Let me start of by mentioning that L'Oreals reps deny any altering of Beyonce's features and skin tone. My position on this whole issue sheds light on a deeper issue, if in fact L'Oreal did alter the image then they are only portraying what minorities are perpetuating. We all are affected by the same influences in major media such as TV and Print and it does have an unconscious effect, we have an idea that beauty is supposed to be a certain something and we spend our lives trying to attain whatever that is.
