Rising UK Hip Hop Star M.I.A Accused Of Being A Terrorist

This goes in the hmmmm category for me...

There are a few people who are accusing M.I.A of having terrorist connections, M.I.A is a UK rapper who's father is a well known resistance leader from Sir Lanka. The most notable of the accusations are coming from an internet spammer who also happens to be a rapper from Sir Lanka which makes me questions the validity of his claims. The aspiring rapper DeLon has even posted a remix to her popular song "Paper Planes", Paper Planes has been out of a while but is gaining notoriety for being featured in the Pineapple Express trailers.

In a 2005 interview, M.I.A. was adamant that she doesn't support terror:

''I've heard lots of people say that I'm part of a terrorist group and I'm singing about that, and singing songs for them, but that's wack, I'd never do that," Arulpragasam told the Australian paper The Age.

I am quite sure Fox News will do a piece on M.I.A and quote lyrics like the ones in her single, "Sunshowers," "Like the PLO, I don't surrender." In 2006, the U.S. denied her a visa to enter the country to perform, reportedly because of her controversial lyrics, but allowed her in the following year.
