 Remy Ma went on trial today (3/10/08) for assault, with a prosecutor claiming the rapper shot and almost killed a friend because she thought the woman had stolen money from her.
But a lawyer for the singer, whose real name is Remy Smith, said the July 14 shooting after a party was "a tragic accident."
Smith, 26, is charged in Manhattan's state Supreme Court with first-degree assault and related charges in the shooting of Makeda Barnes Joseph, who was critically wounded.

Speaking of Fat Joe what is up the this beef with 50, personally I think the beef is really lame 50 Cent is reaching why create beef when there is none lets remember where this beef started 50 Cent's song Piggy Bank he dissed Joe for having Ja Rule on I'm From NY, NY. There is too much going in the world to worry about fabricated beef so I am not going to cover the beef.

 Rolling Stone is backing Democratic Sen. Barack Obama for president, the first time the music magazine has endorsed a contender for the White House during the primary.
"The reason for the early choice is twofold," the editors explain in the publication's upcoming issue. "Undoing the damage of the disastrous Bush years will take a leader who can unite a deeply divided nation, and politicians with gifts like Obama's are so rare that it's imperative for each of us to do our part."

 Russell Simmons has been pushing young people to vote, but for a while there, it was looking as if the music industry heavyweight would have trouble casting his own ballot.Not anymore. The hip-hop mogul said Sunday he is endorsing Barack Obama for president, inspired by the diversity among the Illinois senator's supporters. Obama has built an unprecedented national movement of people from all ethnic, racial, political, social and economic backgrounds, Simmons said in a news release.
